LEVEL OF PERFORMANCE: 1

COMPETENCIES:
I. Teacher demonstrates knowledge of content area and approved curriculum: 2
While in certain general principles the teacher seems good- helping others, civic life at least for love of neighbor, in other ways inappropriate, borderline anti-social, i.e. disrespect for mother and father, consorting with prostitutes, etc.
II. Teacher uses variety of teaching methods and resources: 1
This teacher is good for verbal learners only, writes down nothing, does not use diagrams or manipulables, beyond a little realia. Seems to ignore brain-based research that doing and discovery promote retention, relying mostly on parables (auditory retention is 10% at best). Teacher is to abstract: ‘lilies’?? This is not biology class!
III. Teacher communicates with students and obtains feedback consistent with student comprehension: 1
Low student regard- casting pearls before ‘swine’?!- causes this teacher to underestimate students to his detriment. One student Peter is consistently resistant and another Judas is in outright rebellion.
IV. Teacher applies principles of student growth, development, and learning styles: 2
While the teacher is clearly concerned that students advance, bizarre belief in imminent end of the earth promotes defeatism in the class tone. Class is also teacher centered and does not promote independent thought. Try different seating for a more student-centered classroom environment.
V. Teacher effectively utilizes student assessment procedures: 0
Teacher refuse to provide any assessment of the students according to state standards!
VI. Teacher manages the educational setting in a manner that promotes positive student behavior and a safe and healthy environment: 1
Inconsistent and permissive, this teacher at one time promotes immoral behavior by actually stopping students from enforcing school rules (stoning), and at other times proves excessively strict, or even threatening, bringing a ‘sword’. Actively promotes student drinking against school rules and state law!
VII. Teacher recognizes student diversity and creates an atmosphere conducive to the promotion of positive student involvement and self concept: 2
While attempting to overcome the innate sin feeling of many of the minority students, the teacher can sometimes essentialize behaviors. At the same time intent seems sincere. Is unclear about tolerance to homosexuals.
VIII. Teacher demonstrates willingness to examine and implement change as deemed appropriate: 1
This teacher promotes change for the sake of change without regard for consequences or adequate exposition of this rationale. Authority, be it Roman or Jewish, is thwarted at every turn as indeed is the rule of law. At the same time, demonstrates an ambivalent attitude towards student ambition to individual and social betterment, in one case discouraging the dreams of a student Simon.
IX. Teacher works productively with colleagues, parents, and community workers: 1
As stated above, turns children against their parents, thwarts the social order and civic authorities, is even ambivalent towards charity, preferring to be perfumed!
X. Teacher maintains a professional attitude: 1
This teacher was guilty of an unforgivable public outburst
